BIOGRAPHY OF CHRIS SACCA
Chris Sacca is an American lawyer, entrepreneur, angel investor and business advisor. He is best known as the owner of Lowercase Capital, a venture capital fund in the United States. . The fund’s main job is to invest in startups and early-stage technology companies. Since its inception, the fund has invested in companies such as Twitter, Uber, Instagram, Twilio and Kickstarter. Prior to starting Lowercase Capital, he worked at Google Inc, where he held several positions. He first started as Corporate Counsel, then led the alternative and wireless access divisions and worked on mergers and acquisitions.

The fund contained $8.4 million in seed money with investments in Uber, Docker , Optimizely, StyleSeat, Instagram and Twitter. Some of Lowercase’s goals were to provide capital and advisory services to start-ups and early-stage companies. The companies targeted were technology and media companies. The fund, however, supports companies that are engaged in non-technology related activities but have immense growth potential. Some of these businesses include Blue Bottle Coffee Company and an upscale restaurant in Truckee.
As an angel investor with no corporate influence, Sacca can sometimes get very personal to the companies he invests in. He attended meetings on Twitter and Uber, and he negotiated the rights to Uber.com with Universal Music Group when the company changed its name from Uber Taxi. Although not on Twitter’s payroll, he was hired as a key advisor during his formative years and worked closely with his early employees.

According to him, he was already “two years behind” on his retirement plan at age 40. He said his company would continue to support his portfolio companies.
