Chris Evans
Chris Evans seems typecast in superhero movies, although in reality he has been playing all kinds of roles for a decade.
Born on June 13, 1981, in Sudbury (Massachussetts), Christopher Robert Evans is the son of a dancer and a dentist. Mike Capuano, his mother’s brother, is a famous congressman. His younger brother, Scott, has been an actor on soap operas like One Life to Live .
Although he had planned to attend New York University, he did not enroll, because he met an agent who helped him start his acting career.
He debuted in the family drama The Newcomers , with a prophetic title, as it featured another “newcomer”, Paul Dano , who would also make a career. After the series Opposite Sex , he found success as the lead in the teen comedy Not Another Stupid American Movie , whose title is misleading.
Evans was pleasantly surprised with the intense thriller Cellular , where he played a happy-go-lucky young man who gets a call from a kidnapped stranger ( Kim Basinger ), who has contacted him because his phone is out of order.
Picked to play Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, in Fantastic Four , Chris Evans reprized the role in Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer . Evans had Jessica Biel as a girlfriend , with whom he worked on the aforementioned Cellular and on the romantic drama London. Dark obsession , but they ended up breaking up in 2006.
