CHERYL MILLER BASKETBALL
Immediately after graduating from college, Cheryl was drafted by several basketball leagues, but she suffered a knee injury in 1980 that cut short her basketball career.
Cheryl played for the US national team at the 1983 Women’s World Championships and won the silver medal after losing to the USSR 84-82 in a very close match. In the same year, she helped the American basketball team win the gold medal at the Pan American Games held in Caracus.
Additionally, Cheryl led the United States National Basketball Team to the William Jones Cup in 1984 where they won all of their matches. Additionally, Miller was instrumental in helping Team USA win the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Miller also helped the US national team win a gold medal at the 1986 Goodwill Games in Moscow. Additionally, using his basketball skills and the guidance of his head coach Kay Yow, Miller helped Team USA win the gold medal at the 1986 World Championships held in Moscow.
