American television journalist Cheryl Burton is a news anchor for ABC affiliate television, WLS-TV . She has worked in Chicago, Illinois for 25 years. She anchors the 5 pm news program alongside journalist Alan Krashesky. Burton also contributes to the 10 pm news program. Cheryl Burton began her television career in 1989 at WGN-TV in Chicago. She then moved to Peoria, Illinois and worked at WMBD-TV from 1990-92. Before becoming a journalist, she was part of the Chicago Honey Bears cheerleading squad for the Chicago Bears for three seasons from 1983 to 1986.
