American television journalist Cheryl Burton is a news anchor for ABC affiliate television, WLS-TV . She has worked in Chicago, Illinois for 25 years. She anchors the 5 pm news program alongside journalist Alan Krashesky. Burton also contributes to the 10 pm news program. Cheryl Burton began her television career in 1989 at WGN-TV in Chicago. She then moved to Peoria, Illinois and worked at WMBD-TV from 1990-92. Before becoming a journalist, she was part of the Chicago Honey Bears cheerleading squad for the Chicago Bears for three seasons from 1983 to 1986. She was married to fellow journalist Jim Rose from 1986 to 1995.
