Palminteri has had acclaimed dramatic performances in films like The Perez Family, Devilish, and Jade, as well as comedic Oscar-winning roles in films such as Analyze This and Down to Earth.

In A Bronx Tale, Palminteri plays 18 roles, which depicts a difficult childhood on the streets of the Bronx. The play ran for two months at Playhouse 91 in 1989. Robert De Niro saw this show there and made his directorial debut with the big screen version, co-starring alongside Palminteri.
Palminteri starred in D’Aquila’s play, Unorganized Crime opposite Kenny D’Aquila. He always enjoyed the shot Robert De Niro gave him, so he in turn agreed to star in D’Aquila’s mob-themed drama. Since May 2018, Palminteri has starred in the Broadway musical version of A Bronx Tale.
