Cayetana Guillen Cuervo
Cayetana Guillén Cuervo is a chameleon-like woman who has worked both on television, as a journalist and actress, as well as in film and theater. She was predestined to show business, since she comes from a family of artists with a long history in Spain.
Born in Madrid on June 13, 1969, Cayetana, is the daughter of the late actor Fernando Guillén and daughter of the veteran actress Gemma Cuervo. Her brother is the well-known interpreter Fernando Guillén Cuervo, with whom she has worked on various projects. The only non-artistic family loophole of hers is her sister Natalia of hers. Cayetana graduated in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid.
His artistic career began very early on, as he was only seventeen when he made his first performance in the Segunda enseñanza series ; drama about education in a school. From this moment she would not stop working, combining small roles on television with series such as Historias de la puta mili , Colegio mayor, Juntas pero no revueltas or Raquel busca su sitio De ella, with a long list of feature films.
On the big screen he has acted alongside great actors such as Alfredo Landa , in the comedy La marrana , set in rural Spain in the 15th century. He coincided with Gabino Diego and Antonio Resines in Los hombres siempre menten , a hooligan comedy about a thief of novels. In 1995 he acted in Historias del Kronen , a drama about sex, drugs and death, in which he shared a set with Juan Diego Botto and Jordi Mollá . With Karra Elejalde and his own brother, he starred in the crazy comedy Corsarios del chip. Although she has never been a well-known actress, she has also been under the orders of great Spanish directors, such as José Luis Garci in El abuelo , a drama applauded by the public and critics about old age and the damage that the truth can do. Cayetana received the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos Award thanks to her interpretation. Also included in her filmography is the Oscar winner: All About My Mother . The drama directed by Pedro Almodóvar .
Working as a journalist, Cayetana has presented the television program “Versión española” , in which a review of the best Spanish films was made. In “D-Calle” she was heavily criticized as she appeared smoking joints on the air. “Días de cine” reviewed the national and international news of the film industry. She also came to present the Goya Awards in 2004. On the other hand, her theater career has been constant.
After a few years in which his image lost strength, the successful productions Amar es para siempre, a telenovela about the Spanish postwar period, and El ministerio del tiempo , an innovative series about time travel, brought him back to the forefront.
His personal life is stable; she is married to the photographer Omar Ayyashi Ramiro and has a son.
