Since she was little, she already had a gift for comedy. At just 14 years old she and she began to give her first acting classes and at 21 she was co-founder of the Chapeau rouge company. Although she initially wanted to dedicate herself to the theater, Catherine Frot decided to give the cinema a chance, and she continues there.

Catherine Frot was born in Paris on May 1, 1956. The daughter of an engineer and a mathematics teacher, she studied acting at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in her hometown. She began her career as an actress doing plays and taking part in television productions of the 70s. She made her film debut in 1980 thanks to My Uncle from America , a film directed by Alain Resnais .
