During the 2017 off-season, Wentz enlisted the help of Adam Dedeaux, a movement mechanics instructor, reducing the likelihood of injuries and improving the efficiency of his performances. The result of these sessions were mechanical tweaks in his throwing style. Dedeaux also introduced him to extensive stretching exercises, which he absolutely does before every training session and game.

  1. He also played on baseball and basketball teams while attending high school.
  2. He decided to serve his freshman year in North Dakota State as a redshirt, effectively extending his college career to 5 years.
  3. During his junior year in the 2014 season, he managed to become a starting quarterback for North Dakota State.
  4. He fractured his wrist in the first half of a college football game during the 2015 season, but still made 16 of his 29 throws and exceeded 195 yards throughout the game.
  5. Before graduating from North Dakota State University, he was twice named Academic All-American of the Year by the American College Sports Information Director.
  6. In April 2016, he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles as the second overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft.
  7. In May 2016, Wentz signed a four-year contract with the Eagles valued at $26.67 million. The deal also included a $17.6 million signing bonus.
