He starred with Debbie Reynolds in “Two Weeks With Love” where they both sang ” Aba Daba Honeymoon” which became a hit. Carleton Carpenter passed away on January 31, 2022, at the age of 95, at his residence in Warwick, New York.

Born July 10, 1926 in Bennington, Vermont, Carleton Upham Carpenter Jr.—his full name—was a student  at Bennington High School in 1944, when he landed a role on Broadway in the show “Bright Boy.” He later served in the Navy, in a detail that helped  build the airstrip from which he took off the Enola Gay for his 1945 flight to Hiroshima during World War II.

Back in civilian life, Carleton Carpenter landed roles in various New York theater productions. He made his film debut with Lost Boundaries (1949), about a black family posing as white. Signed by MGM, he participated as a supporting role in  Summer Repertoire (1950), starring Gene Kelly and Judy Garland .
