Carey Hannah Mulligan was born in Westminster (London) on May 28, 1985 into a family of Irish descent. She spent most of her childhood in Germany, where she stayed in luxury hotels, because her father had accepted a high position in a hotel company.
She discovered her acting vocation when she was very young, when she attended a school function in which her brother performed “The King and I”. “My brother was on the stage and I started crying because I was very little and they didn’t let me act. In the end they took me on stage because they told me that being Owen’s sister she could be on top ”, recalls the actress.
Although she applied to be admitted to three acting schools, she did not succeed. In addition, her parents were not amused that she dedicated herself to acting. Her role as Jenny, a lively girl from the 1960s, has dazzled critics since the film entered competition at the Sundance Festival. He has received a critic’s award and a Golden Globe nomination.
His career has only just begun. She has already been signed by Oliver Stone , for the second part of Wall Street , and it is rumored that she could be Eliza Doolittle herself in the remake of My Fair Lady prepared by John Madden .
