California Meron James Pettit (born 1991) is an American executive chef, criminal, and drug dealer from Granite Bay, California. As recently as September 2019, he garnered significant media attention after being charged in connection with the death of Mac Miller.
He was an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Mac rose to fame with the KIDS and Best Day Ever mixtapes. In 2013, he launched his record label “REMember Music”.
On September 7, 2018, the rapper passed away at the age of 26. His assistant found him unconscious at his Studio City home. Mac Miller died of a drug overdose.
According to his autopsy reports, the main reason for the record producer’s death was a combination of cocaine, fentanyl and alcohol. James was arrested on a charge of the distribution of a controlled substance.
Accused of being responsible for the tragic death of Mac Miller
On September 4, 2019, the young executive chef was arrested on a drug trafficking charge. This offence carries up to 20 years in federal prison. Cameron was charged after a criminal complaint was filed in federal court in Los Angeles.
DEA Special Agent Tommy Fung wrote the indictment and claimed that he supplied Miller with artificial oxycodone pills. The pills also contained trace amounts of fentanyl. In the report, it was also revealed that Pettit was dating one of his Instagram friends.
He said things like “I will die in jail”, “I will move to another country”, “Nothing has happened yet”, etc. Later, the drug dealer deleted his original social media account and created a new handle.
According to a source, a woman named “ Mia Johansson ” (alleged associate) was also involved in this incident. Daniel Comeaux (DEA Los Angeles Special Agent in Charge) issued a statement in which he said this arrest was another success for the DEA HIDTA Fusion Task Force.
