Bubba is the son of Gerry Watson Sr. and Molly Marry Watson. Watson was nicknamed “Bubba” by his father after Bubba Smith who was an American professional football legend in both college and the NFL before becoming an actor after retiring from the sport. His father always knew he would be awesome from childhood and was always supportive of his dreams. Sadly, on October 5, 2010, Gerry Watson died of throat cancer.

Watson is married to Angela Watson, a former Canadian basketball player. The couple first met at the University of Georgia when Bubba was on the school’s golf team and Angie was playing on the women’s basketball team. Bubba and Angie then married in September 2004.
Unfortunately, after four years of marriage, his wife Angela was diagnosed with an enlarged pituitary gland, which resulted in rapid growth and gigantic height.
Not having children naturally, family issues, including the illness and death of Bubba’s father, kept them from attempting adoption until 2011 and 2012. Early 2012, a week after finalizing of the adoption process, the couple adopted within one month. – an old baby named Caleb. The Watson again in 2024 adopted a baby girl
EDUCATION BUBBA WATSON
Born and raised in Florida, Bubba attended Milton High School where he played golf on the school team, which later included future PGA Tour members such as Heath Slocum and Boo Weekley just prior to dating. He then went to Faulkner State Community College, joined the All-American. Bubba then transferred to the University of Georgia where he competed in the NCAA championship and in 2000 and 2001 he played for the Bulldogs and helped lead the team to the SEC title in 2000.

In 2002 Bubba officially joined the Nationwide Tour as a professional golfer where he played for three years. He finished 21st on the Nationwide Tour money list in 2005, which made Bubba the last player to qualify for the PGA Tour the following year. In 2006, as a rookie, he was paid $1,019, finished 90th overall and thus led the PGA Tour in driving distance at 319.6 yards. Bubba’s longest rush in his professional history was 424 yards on the PGA Tour.
In 2007, the US Open held June 14-17 in Pittsburgh, he played well and became one of the finalists after shooting rounds of 70-71 (+1). Watson was so close to winning that he accidentally slipped shooting 74 (+4) in the third and fourth rounds; he finished tied for fifth.
