BTS was formed in the year 2010 when Big Hit Entertainment sought to create a hip-hop band. Originally, the label boss, Bang Si-hyuk had plans to create the group around RM, the group leader- he was a rapper in Seoul at the time. However, in October 2022, the band’s label (Big Hit Entertainment) disclosed that the septet will be enlisted for military service soon. He further revealed that the band’s oldest member withdrew his request to differ his enlistment and will be inducted at the end of the month while others will follow later.

The band, as disclosed by Big Hit, will reunite in 2025 after the conclusion of their service years.
