BRYNN THAYER MATLOCK (TV SERIES)

Matlock is an American legal drama television arrangement directed by Dean Hargrove, starring Andy Griffith in the title role of criminal defense attorney Ben Matlock. The look, created by Intermedia Entertainment Company (first season only), The Fred Silverman Company, Dean Hargrove Productions and Viacom Productions, originally leaked from March 3, 1986 to May 8, 1992 on NBC; and from November 5, 1992 to May 7, 1995 on ABC.

The arrangement of the series is like that of CBS’s Perry Mason (with the Matlock TV movies and 1980s Perry Mason films directed by Dean Hargrove), with Matlock acknowledging the culprits and then confronting them in sensational court scenes.

One distinction, however, was that although Mason normally excused his clients in a preliminary hearing, Matlock as a rule secured a preliminary absolution from the jury. Since 1991, reruns of the show have aired in syndication and on TBS, INSP, Hallmark Channel, CBS Drama, WGN America, FETV, and MeTV.

The show focuses on widower Benjamin Leighton “Ben” Matlock (played by Andy Griffith), a high-profile, folksy, traditional but quarrelsome lawyer. Typically, towards the end of the case, the individual on the stand that Matlock is addressing is the real culprit, and Matlock will find out, although he has made it clear that his sole purpose is to prove a reasonable doubt in the example of the guilt of his client or to demonstrate the irreproachable character of his client.

BRYNN THAYER WHY SHE LEFT MATLOCK

In 1997, two years after the deal was struck, Andy Griffith retold Matlock’s business on a two-segment scene from Diagnosis Murder in 1993. This would mark his last appearance in the business, and the seminal moment when the Matlock’s character was seen on CBS. In the scene, it is explained that Dr. Engraving Sloan (Dick Van Dyke) enticed Ben in 1969 to contribute his lifetime speculation reserves, $5,000, into the 8-track tape industry.

Exactly when Ben lost most of his money, he started dealing with modest costumes and eating sausages, because that was all he could bear. By the time he had money again, it was an affinity. Regardless of how sisterly Charlene (Linda Purl) and Leanne (Brynn Thayer) should be, no notification is ever built of their relationship during the game plan.
