Brooke Elliott is an American professional singer and actress. She gained her fame and fame after playing the role of a character named “Jane Bingum” in the TV series “Drop Dead Diva”. She has appeared in various segments of showbiz including small screen, theater and big screen. Her professional acting career began when she made her debut in the Broadway musical “Taboo” and The Pirate Queen.

Brooke grew up in Fridley County, Minnesota. At the age of 3, she began singing, and videotapes of her singing “You Light Up My Life” have been carefully preserved. As a junior, she attended high school in Riverview, Michigan. While in high school, she starred in many college-produced plays, including “The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Joseph,” and “Richard III.” In 1993, she graduated from the Gabriel Richard Catholic School. She then joined Western Michigan University and graduated in 1998, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater.

A graduate of Western Michigan University in 1998, she worked as a waitress at a themed restaurant. Later in 1999, she moved to Chicago and was employed in a theater company named “Babes with Blades” as a cast member. Elliott had a role in the scene of ‘Heathers’, ‘The Miracle Worker’ and ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’. She worked for 10 weeks with the theater company and left for her first professional theater role as Sugar Bowl in the US touring version of Beauty and the Beast a Walt Disney Production .
She was then featured alongside Adam Lambert in the American Broadway musical ‘Wicked’ tour. The producer of the musical show “Taboo”, Rosie O’Donnell helped Brook get a role in the theater which was her first role “Great White Way” where she starred with Boy George. Later, she got a chance to portray the character of Majella in the play “The Pirate Queen”. The began performing on stage in Chicago beginning in 2006 and moved to Broadway in 2007.
In 2000, she made her film debut in Mel Gibson’s film “Woman in Park”. In 2009, she made her television debut after starring in one of the episodes of “Law & Order: Trial by Jury”. She is best known for her role as Jane Bingum in the television series “Drop Dead Diva”.
