- Molko grew up in a strict household where his artistic aspirations were disregarded and his father, himself an international banker, wanted him to follow suit.
- He took up the androgynous lifestyle and intended it as a mark of the rebel.
- Brian was also extremely bullied at the European School of Luxembourg , which resulted in him dropping out of school.
- Both Molko and Placebo’s co-founder Stefan Olsdal attended the American International School of Luxembourg, but were not friends at the time.
- In his late twenties, he suffered from a major depressive disorder that prompted his excessive drug use. He also felt alone and alienated in his childhood.
- Molko had indulged in almost every kind of drug, which was also reflected in the name and work of his band. Placebo.
