Brenda Ann Benet, popularly known as Brenda Benet, was an American television and film actress who was best known for her roles on the soap operas The Young Marrieds and Days of Our Lives.

Benet made her acting debut in an episode of the short-lived ABC sitcom Wendy and Me in 1964 and went on to score countless appearances on different television series throughout her 16-year acting career. .

The actress portrayed recurring character Lee DuMonde during her 3 years on the show. Interestingly, she was quite unpopular among fans of the show, as her character was about to break up one of the show’s most popular couples. As far as education is concerned, not much is known. We only know that she attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for a while, where she majored in languages.

Also, the talented actress scored a few big screen credits during the early years of her career. She made her film debut in the musical Beach Ball in 1965, after which she appeared in another musical Perfume Scarum in 1965, starring Elvis Presley. Benet also appeared in the action film Track of Thunder in 1967 and her last film role was in the semi-biopic Walking With Your Head Tall in 1973. Her last acting performance, however, was on an episode of the series Western drama Father Murphy in 1982.

In 1967, she was first married to The Donna Reed Show actor Paul Petersen. She left Petersen for actor Bill Bixby in 1969. After her divorce from Petersen became final, Brenda married Bixby in 1971. The two had one child, Christopher Sean, in September 1974 and later divorced in 1980. After divorce and until her death, Brenda was in a relationship with future expert Tammy Bruce. Brenda has experienced a number of personal and professional challenges following her divorce from Bixby.

Her role in Days of Our Lives made her extremely unpopular with fans; his character broke up one of the show’s popular couples, Doug and Julie, and fans were outraged. However, his most personal challenge came when his six-year-old son Christopher died in March 1981. DEATH OF BRENDA BENET

She was devastated by the death of her son and sank into a severe depression. On April 7, 1982, she died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 36. Tammy Bruce writes about her personal involvement with Bixby and Benet in her book, The Death of Right and Wrong.

Benet and Bruce were romantically involved for some time, and Benet killed herself in a house she had previously shared with Bruce. Bruce had moved out two weeks before the suicide. On the day of Brenda’s suicide, Bruce thought she would meet her for lunch. According to Bruce, Brenda was locked in the bathroom of her house when she arrived. Tammy sensed something was wrong and went for help. After Bruce came out, Benet killed herself.
