BREAKING: Bandits Release Abducted Zamfara School Girls.

The 317 students of Government Girls Secondary School that were Abducted in Zamfara have been released. The students were freed this morning. Reports say they are now in the palace of the Emir of Anka awaiting transportation to Gusau, the state capital.

The 317 students of Government Girls Secondary School that were Abducted in  Jangebe, Zamfara State, have been released. The students were freed this morning. Reports say they are now in the palace of the Emir of Anka awaiting transportation to Gusau, the state capital.

The girls who were kidnapped on Friday were believed to have been taken to a forest by bandits who reportedly disguised as security personnel.

A source said the girls were kept in the forest between Dangulbi and Sabon Birnin Banaga in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

An official of the Zamfara state government confirmed the development, on Channels Television Today.

However, it is unclear if a ransom was paid to secure the release of the schoolgirls from their abductors.
