BREAKING: Baba Ijesha still in custody despite bail___ Lawyer

Popular Yoruba actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been in police custody for a while over a confirmed sexual assault, though granted bail on health grounds, is still in police custody.

Speaking with newsmen on Monday, his lawyer confirmed the development,

“He was granted bail about one hour ago. We are working to perfect the bail conditions. He was granted bail on health grounds. He has not been released. He will be released after his bail conditions have been perfected,” he said.

Among the bail conditions as listed by his lawyer are two reliable sureties, one of which must be a level-10 civil servant, direct blood relation to the accused and N500,000 bail bond.

Moreso, a police source while speaking with newsmen, said Baba Ijesha is still in custody, however, bail conditions would still undergo certain processes.

“Baba Ijesha is still in the cell. He has not been released. What happened was that some magistrates went to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, and they saw him there as he was limping,” the source said.

“One of the magistrates asked what was wrong with him and he said it was Princess boys, who beat him when they saw him and he had been feeling severe pain. So, the magistrates said since he had a health condition, they would recommend that he should be released on bail.
