Two comedians with ties to Central New York have a beef that has seemingly gone on for decades. Jerry Seinfeld seriously hates Goldthwait and explained why in a new episode of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”

The episode, released last week, features a raunchy cabaret performer named Bridget Everett, who has appeared in movies and TV shows like “Inside Amy Schumer,” “Patti Cake$” and “Lady Dynamite.”

Over coffee, Everett brings up Goldthwait, saying she is “good friends” with him. The name rings a bell, but the movement of her mouth (and the unique name) makes it clear to book readers that she said “Bobcat Goldthwait.”

They’re friends, as Goldthwait directed her Amazon TV pilot ‘Love You More’ in 2017 and cast her in last year’s truTV series ‘Misfits & Monsters’.

Seinfeld bristles at the name, immediately going from humorous to bitter and angry. “I do not like him. At all,” Seinfeld tells Everett. “I had kind of forgotten about him and then there was a little article about him in the newspaper and even in that there was a veiled reference to his dislike of what I was doing. He didn’t have my name, of course. »

Goldthwait was seen as a show performer and had a ‘Meat Bob’ record and two TV specials in the 1980s: An Evening with Bobcat Goldthwait – Let’s Share the Heat and Bob Goldthwait – Is He Like This All the Time? Throughout the fall of 1993, Goldthwait performed stand-up material as the opening act representing Nirvana on what may be their last visit to North America.

He had been chosen for the opening due to frontman Kurt Cobain being a follower of his parody, and the two built a brotherhood throughout the visit.

At one stop during the visit to Chicago, Goldthwait caused minor debate following mocking Michael Jordan when his father was dead. He also appeared in a promotional video for the band’s In Utero collection and once fooled an interviewer during a meeting call, impersonating Dave Grohl.

At noon on New Year’s Eve 1993, Goldthwait abseiled from a phase walkway at the Oakland Coliseum as Kurt Cobain led a start.
