Bobby Lee is one of those actors, who struggled a lot to be what he is today. His parents wanted him to follow the family business. However, he went against his parents’ decision and pursued his dream. Later, he received an apology from his father who was not supportive at first.

Bobby was born as Robert Lee, Jr. on September 17, 1971, to his parents – Robert and Jeanie Lee in San Diego, California. He is also one of the Asian American artists like Joanna Gaines . Lee is an American citizen of Korean descent. He is the oldest son in his family and has a younger brother named Steve Lee.
BOBBY LEE: DRUG ABUSE AND CAREER
Lee underwent rehab following severe marijuana and methamphetamine abuse when he was 12 years old. He was cleaned when he was 17. After graduating from Poway High School in Poway, California, he moved out of his parents’ home. At the age of 18, Robert Jr started working in restaurants and cafes and at the same time he attended Palomar College.
In 1994, Lee took his first step towards his dream, which was when he lost his job at the coffee shop after the business closed. Later, he did odd jobs at the La Jolla Comedy Store in San Diego. Afterwards, he tried out his stand-up abilities at the club during one of the amateur nights. Then within a short time he received opening offers for Pauly Shore and Carlos Mencia. Lee also got a legitimate job at the Comedy Store in Los Angles, owned by Mitzi, Pauly Shore’s mother.
After much of his hard work, Lee later became Mad TV’s only East Asian cast member in 2001 and remained until the series ended in 2009. The actor returned for a brief stint when MADtv returned to action on The CW in 2016.
Amazingly, Bobby fell into drug addiction again when a Mad TV producer told him he wouldn’t use him much on the show because he wasn’t funny enough. This ended his years of sobriety. Fortunately, he quit using drugs and got sober again shortly after following MadTV producer Lauren Dombrowski’s intervention in his case on the show.
The comedian’s other projects include appearances in films and shows like ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ in 2002, ‘Animal Practice’ in 2012, ‘The Dictator’ in 2012, ‘Hangover’ in 2010 and the comedy film British ‘Ugly’ in America. in 2016. He then started a weekly podcast called Tigerbelly in 2016, together with his wife, Khalyla Kuhn.

Bobby Lee met Khalyla on popular dating site Tinder. Later, Lee shared his heart over Khalyla on social media, confirming that they were dating. In August 2016, the duo transformed into husband and wife at the church in New York.
