The comedian who became popular as the widower Danny Tanner, who struggled to raise his three daughters in “Holden Parents,” has died prematurely at the age of 65. Bob Saget was found dead on January 9, 2021, at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Orlando, Florida, with no signs of violence or drugs, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, in the state of Floria. The cause of death was unknown. The day before, he had starred in his two-hour show in Jacksonville.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 17, 1956, the childhood of Robert Lane Saget –his full name– was characterized by the fact that his humble family had to move numerous times for work reasons. “I had a hard time making friends, so I relied on humor to meet new people. That’s how my comedic skills were born,” Bob Saget said in an interview.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the Temple University Film School. There he made his directorial debut, shooting the short documentary Through Adam’s Eyes , in black and white, for which he received the Student Academy Award. He later ended up at the University of Southern California, but left it after a few days. In 1987, Bob Saget began acting as a comedian on “The Morning Program,” a CBS radio show, with which he became a celebrity.
He divorced in 1997 from the also actress Sherri Kramer Saget, who had made him the father, not forced, of three daughters, Aubrey, Lara Melanie and Jennifer Belle. In 2018, Bob Saget had been paired with Kelly Rizzo, who has been with him until her death.
After this program, Bob Saget signed for the series with which he would succeed worldwide, Forced Parents , with which John Stamos , brother-in-law of his character who gave him a cable, and the twins Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen ,, who took turns giving life to little Michelle. The series did not start well, as far as the audience is concerned, it began to sweep from the second season. The actor combined fiction with the filming of America’s Funniest Home Videos , a television program that became very popular in the United States.
After the end of the comedy, Bob Saget played himself in Entourage , and provided the voice of the narrator of How I Met Your Mother . Between 2016 and 2020 he brought back the character of Danny Tanner, for Forced Mothers , a sequel to Forced Parents for Netflix, which failed to revalidate the success of the original. His last job was a supporting role in the Jeremy LaLonde comedy Killing Daniel .
