BIOGRAPHY OF BOB BRINKER
Bob Brinker (full name: Robert John Brinker) is an American financial advisor and radio host who has hosted the syndicated financial radio show Moneytalk since 1986. Brinker previously had a local New York radio show on WMCA. He also hosted radio shows on WCAU (now WPHT) and WWDB in Philadelphia.
Brinker attended La Salle College High School. He graduated from La Salle University with a BA in Economics in 1964. Bob went on to do masters studies in communications and finance at Temple University. In 1966, Brinker became a news anchor with Philadelphia news radio station KYW
He joined Provident National Bank as a portfolio manager in 1970. He became an investment officer at New Jersey National Bank in 1973. Brinker was an assistant professor of finance at Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, while he worked in New Jersey. He was vice president and investment adviser at the Bank of New York from 1974 to 1981.
Brinker was director of investments in the United States with the British London-based company Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance from 1981 to 1992. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York.

New York radio station WMCA hired Brinker to host a talk show on investing in 1981. In 1986, ABC Radio launched Brinker’s show nationally, Moneytalk. Money talk was heard on over 200 radio stations across the country and was also broadcast worldwide on the internet. The show aired Sundays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Eastern Time). Talkers.com named Brinker to its list of the 100 Greatest Radio Show Hosts of All Time in 2014.
After more than 32 years of hosting Money Talk, Brinker decided to step away from radio. The last Money Talk live stream was on September 30, 2018.

It began publishing the Marketimer newsletter in 1986. The newsletter covers market timing, the Federal Reserve, and mutual funds, among other topics. He is listed on the Hulbert Financial Digest Investment Letters Honor Roll. Brinker continues to write and publish his Marketimer investment letter and says he’s happy to “get his weekends back.”
