BIOGRAPHY OF BO DEREK
Bo Derek is an American actress, model, and film and television producer who is perhaps best known for her breakthrough role in the 1979 film 10.
Bo was directed by her husband John Derek, in Tarzan, the Ape Man (1981), Bolero (1984) and Ghosts Can’t Do It (1989), all of which received negative reviews.

Derek attended Narbonne High School and George S. Patton Continuation School, both in Harbor City, California. In a 1985 interview on Late Night with David Letterman, Derek revealed that she once dropped out of school when she was 16, but later returned to school.

Bo started her acting career in 1973, where she starred in a movie called Fantasies which was produced by her husband John Derek. The film was shot in Greece over a period of 10 days. However, the film remained unreleased until 1981. After its release, it received negative reviews.
Later in 1977, Derek had a small role in director Michael Anderson’s horror film Orca – The Killer Whale.
In 1979, the actress is alleged to have been selected over Melanie Griffith, Heather Thomas and several others for the role of Jenny Hanley in the romantic comedy film 10. The film starred in the film was Dudley Moore. Dudley starred as a middle-aged man, who finds Derek’s character, Jenny Hanley, to be the perfect woman.
In a dream sequence, Derek made an appearance in a flimsy flesh-colored swimsuit, running towards Dudley Moore. This appearance launched her status as a traditional sex symbol. In the film she also had cornrows and they were often parodied.
In 1980, Derek was cast in a comedy-drama film called A Change of Seasons. In the film, she played a college student who has an affair with his older, married teacher.
Derek was photographed twice for Playboy magazine in 1980. She would later be featured again in the magazine in 1981, 1984 and 1994.
