William Zabka is an American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer who is known for his roles, Johnny Lawrence in The Karate Kid (1984), Rick Steelman in Jacuzzi Time Machine (2010), and The Karate Kid Part II (1986). . Early life of William Zabka
William Zabka was born on October 20, 1965 in New York City, United States of America as William Michael Zabka. He is the son of Stanley William Zabka , director, writer and composer and Nancy (Heimert) Zabka , business liaison, producer and production assistant.
Zabka’s father was also an assistant director on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson for the show’s first two years and also worked as a production manager on several movies like Forced Revenge.
He grew up with two brothers; sister Judy Zabka and brother Guy Zabka . Both brothers are proficient musicians, singers and songwriters.

Zabka started his acting career in the movie, The Karate Kid in 1984. His appearance as Johnny Lawrence was highly appreciated. He played the role of a martial artist in the movie which inspired him to learn the martial art of Tang Soo Do in real life as well. He later earned a second degree green belt.
In the early 1980s, he appeared in films and television shows such as Just One of the Boys , Back to School , The Equalizer , and National Lampoon’s European Vacation where he mainly played the bully characters. He later tried to steer clear of playing those roles as he was ‘ sometimes picked on in public by random people because of the evil characters he was best known for ‘.
During the 1990s and 2000s, he mostly acted in independent films while studying to be a filmmaker. Then, in 2003, he wrote and produced the short film More which premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. The film won several awards, including Best Festival at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival in 2003. It was also nominated for an Academy Award.
Later in 2007, Zabka directed and starred in a music video titled Sweep the Leg. This video featured cameo appearances by various members of the film’s cast. The Karate Kid including Martin Kove and Ralph Macchio.
His other popular movies are Starting from Scratch, Hot Tub Time Machine, Where Hope Is Grown, The Dog Who Saved Summer and some more. As in the television series, he appeared as a guest on How I Met Your Mother, Psychologist and Life of Gortimer Gibbon on Ordinary Street. As of 2018, he has worked on the web series. Cobra Kai which continued the story of The Karate Kid movie.
