He is a sociopolitical comedian popularly known as the host of the former FXX television series Totally Biased with W.Kamau Bell. As of April 24, 2016, he began hosting the CNN original series United Shades of America.

Bell became certified at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and before dropping out also attended the University of Pennsylvania. He then began his lifelong dream of being a comedian.
