Taraji Penda Henson was born on September 11, 1970. He was born in Washington, DC, United States. She is an American actress and singer.
She is the daughter of Bernice Gordon, who was a corporate manager at Woodward & Lothrop, and Boris Henson, who was a janitor and manufacturer professionally. Her name was put of Swahili origin. Her first name ‘Taraji’ means hope and her middle name ‘Penda’ means love. Most of her time was spent in the summers in the southern suburbs of Maryland at her grandparents’ house.
Early age and education
He went to Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland. He studied Electrical Engineering at NC A&T. Later, he transferred to Howard University.
He worked very hard between his two jobs to pay for Howard University. She worked as a secretary at the Pentagon in the morning and as a waitress at The Odyssey Cruise Line at night. Her hard work paid off and she won the Triple Threat Award upon graduating with a degree in Theater Arts.

In 2005, Henson appeared in the film Four Brothers and Talk to Me and Smokin’ Aces in 2007, The Family that preys in 2008, and Hurricane Seasons in 2009. She was cast opposite Brad Pitt in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
