Love is the father of NBA player Kevin Love; who now plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the younger brother of Mike Love, who is one of the founding members of the Beach Boys. He graduated from Morningside High School, Inglewood, California, and then enrolled in the University of Oregon Ducks in 1968.
