Cazorla is a versatile, switch-hitting attacking midfielder who can also play as a winger and central defensive midfielder. He was ranked the 10th best footballer in Europe by Bloomberg in 2013.

Santi Cazorla was born as Santiago Cazorla González on December 13, 1984 in Llanera, Asturias, Spain. He has Spanish nationality and belongs to the white ethnic group.

Cazorla is the son of Loli Manuel and José Manue and has a brother, Nando Cazorla.

Santi Cazorla began his career with local football club Real Oviedo and later transferred to Villarreal B at the age of 17. He was placed in the main team in the 2004-05 seasons and played in the Champions League in 2015.

Santi Cazorla began his international career with coach Iñaki Saez, in the Spanish under-21 team. On May 17, 2008, he was placed in the UEFA Euro 2008 squad, which surprised the Spanish press. On November 19, 2008, he scored his first international goal against Chile and won the match 3-0.

In 2010, he missed the FIFA World Cup due to a hernia. In 2014, Cazorla was included in Spain’s 30-man provisional squad for the FIFA World Cup and was placed on the final roster. He appeared in the last 14 minutes, but they failed to win the match against Chile and he was eliminated. However, in total he had scored 14 international goals in 77 games.
