Emmy Award winner Rena Sherel Sofer is an American actress. She is best known for her appearance on daytime television, her guest appearance in episodes, and her television movies. She was born on December 2, 1968 in California, United States of America.
Early age and education
Rena Sofer spent her childhood in Arcadia with her family. She is the daughter of Susan Franzblau, a psychology professor, and Martin Sofer, who is a conservative Jewish rabbi. Her family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when she was little.
After that, her parents divorced, and Rena Sofer attended the Frisch School, in Paramus, New Jersey. She later lived with her father, the rabbi of Temple Beth EI in North Bergen. She began her classes at Montclair State College after graduating from North Bergen High School.
Career
Rena Sofer started modeling at the age of 15 when she was discovered by a New York talent agent. Her modeling career soon turned to acting.
He appeared on Another World for a short time in 1964. Later he went on to be a part of the soap opera Loving for 3 years, he played the character of Rockie McKenzie.
Rena Sofers’ first notable television appearance was on the 1963 ABC soap opera General Hospital, she played Lois Cerullo, Savvy’s record promoter. She won the Daytime Emmy for the role and also became an instant favorite with the audience. She also met Wally Kurth on the sets of General Hospital, her ex-husband and father of her daughter Rosabel Rosalind Kurth.
Rena Sofer made the jump to primetime in the mid-’90s, guest-starring on several series before landing an episode regular on the soap opera Melrose Place in 1992. She also appeared on the sitcom Just Shoot Me, which featured other artists including George Segal , Wendie Malick, Enrico Colantoni, David Spade and Laura San Giacomo.
Rena Sofer began receiving roles on the big screen with films like Keeping the Faith in 2000 alongside Ben Stiller.
He also worked with Melanie Griffith in the Sidney Lumets film A Stranger Among Us. Sofer appeared alongside Dean McDermott and Barbara Eden in the film Always and Forever on October 24, 2009.
In 2013, Rena Sofer returned to her daytime roots, playing the role of the enigmatic jewelry designer Quinn Fuller in The Bold and the Beautiful .
