Paula Ann Zahn was born on February 24, 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Canton, Ohio. Paula Ann has three brothers. Paula and her family moved to Naperville, Illinois. Paula herself attended Washington Junior High School while she was in Naperville and in 1974 she graduated from Naperville Central High School.

While in her high school, Paula Ann Zahn participated in numerous beauty pageants and reached the semifinals of the Miss Teenage America pageant in 1973. Paula joined Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri on a cello scholarship where she gained much knowledge of the news business working as an intern at WBBM-TV in Chicago. In 1978, Paula graduated with a degree in journalism.

 

Paula Zahn’s professional career

Paula then began working at local stations across the country, including WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas, KFMB-TV California, WHDH-TV in Boston, KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, and KPRC-TV in Houston. Zahn finally received an offer to work at ABC News in 1987.

He then began hosting The Health Show. Zahn also began co-hosting the network’s morning newscast; World News This Morning and also news segments on Good Morning America. Paula accepted the offer from CBS News and began co-hosting CBS This Morning with co-anchor Harry Smith. Paula then began working on the Saturday edition of the CBS Evening News.

Paula began contributing reporting to various CBS shows including 48 Hours, Public Eye with Bryant Gumbel, and CBS News Sunday Morning. Ella Paula then went on to assist in the cover story for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France and also the 1994 Winter Olympics in Norway. Paula worked a total of nine years for CBS News.

 

Paula then joined Fox News Channel (FNC) and later hosted Fox Report. Zahn launched “The Edge with Paula Zahn,” which was her own primetime news show. Paula worked for almost 2 years with Fox Channel after which Fox discovered that Paula was in a secret negotiation with CNN and for that reason they fired her for being a breach of her contract.

Paula then joined CNN on September 11, 2001, as expected, working on coverage of that day’s terrorist attacks. In the impending January, Paula Ann finally launched her CNN Morning news show titled ‘American Morning with Paula Zahn’. Paula Ann earned her honorary degree from Oakdale-based Dowling College in May 2003.

In the same year, Paula returned to prime time news and began hosting the two-hour show titled Live from the Headlines which was related to the Iraq war at the time. On August 2, 2007, she watched the final broadcast of Paula Zahn Now. Paula became the co-anchor of SundayArts news on PBS station WNET and WLIW in New York City on November 9, 2008.

 

Zahn then signed on to develop a true crime documentary series. On October 18, 2009, Paula Ann launched On the Case with Paula Zahn on the Investigation Discovery channel.

All the rumors went up in thin air when Paula filed a lawsuit against Cohen claiming that he mismanaged his 20-year career earnings. Consequently, the lawsuit was dismissed by the New York state court. Paula is an honorary board member of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation which aims to raise general cancer awareness.
