Saphier attended Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She served her oncology imaging fellowship at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she specialized in breast imaging.

“The decision to have my son at a young age was not based on political or religious beliefs. On the contrary, it was based on emotion and a sense of responsibility. If this had happened decades earlier, I may have been forced into an unsafe abortion or hidden throughout my pregnancy and my child delivered. I am grateful that I had the option to choose life.
