Mika Emilie Leonia Brzezinski, an American television host and journalist, is a well-known Democratic co-host of MSNBC’s weekday morning broadcast Morning Joe.
Mika has fallen into many heated debates while on the air to give importance to hard and serious news instead of news that entertains people. She has worked on many CBS shows before joining NBC. She has been engaged to Joe Scarborough since 2017.
Early life, biography, family and education of Mika Brezinski
Mika Brzezinski was born on May 2, 1967 in New York City. His father From him Zbigniew Brzezinski is a Polish-born foreign policy expert and former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski and his mother From her Emilie Ann Benesova is a Swiss-born sculptor of Czech descent

Mika Brezinski’s career
Brzezinski began his journalism career as an assistant on World News This Morning broadcast on ABC in 1990. In 1991, Mika began working with Tribune-owned Fox affiliate WTIC-TV/WTIC-DT, based in Hartford, Connecticut.
She worked hard and was promoted to General Assignment Reporter from the Task and Features Editor. The following year she joined the Hartford-based WFSB-TV/WFSB-DT, which is affiliated with CBS. Then slowly, in 1995, Mika became their weekday morning host.
Two years after working there, she left and joined CBS News and began serving as a correspondent and anchor for the nightly news show Up to the Minute. Mika took a short break from CBS in 2000 and began working for CBS’s rival MSNBC network. At MSNBC she worked on the weekday afternoon show HomePage.
She and her two other female co-hosts were described as ‘the Powerpuff Girls of journalism’ by Entertainment Weekly. Then again, in September of 2001, Mika returned to CBS as a correspondent and brought her into the spotlight as the lead reporter for “Ground Zero” for the attacks of September 11, 2001. Mika was broadcasting live from the scene when the South Tower collapsed, giving his report much public attention.
She continued to work for CBS News as a correspondent and also as a substitute anchor and segment anchor for breaking news segments and regular updates. At the same time, she began contributing heavily to CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes before being fired from her.
On the 26th of January 2007, Mika returned to MSNBC and began working on ‘Up to the Minute’ news updates. She then filled in MSNBC Live on weekdays and weekends hosting the weekday primetime newscasts. Meanwhile, she filed reports for NBC Nightly News and began appearing on Weekend Today as a news anchor. She has appeared on the MSNBC morning show Morning Joe as a co-anchor and newsreader.

Mike Brezenski has been engaged to his Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough since early 2017. The couple began dating while she was still married to ex-husband James Patrick Hoffer.
She met television reporter James Patrick Hoffer while working for WTIC-TV. The duo later got married in a closing ceremony on October 23, 1993. They welcomed two daughters together. Emile and Carlie Hoffer. Unfortunately, after living for almost 23 years, the couple divorced in 2016. Her daughter Emilie Hoffer is studying political science at John Hopkins University.
There have been many incidents while working on Morning Joe and one of them includes when he refused to read a report about Paris Hilton’s release from jail and when after another news segment producer Andy Johns pushed the story ahead of the news about the Indiana Republican. Mika considered the political news important and therefore tried to set the script on fire while it was on the air, but was stopped. She then tore up the script and an hour later she got up and ran another copy of the same script through a paper shredder. The entire cast was stunned and so was the audience when it spread across the internet. Many supported her idea to give more importance to political news instead of entertainment news.
Mika has written two books to date. Her first book, All Things at Once, was published in January 2010 by Weinstein Books. This book of hers focuses on helping women of all ages deal with the unique professional and personal challenges that will help them balance the two perfectly.
Her second book titled ‘Knowing Your Worth: Women, Money, and Getting What You’re Worth’ was published a year later by Weinstein Books, which told of her own personal story. Mika is also the cousin of the famous author Matthew Brezinski. The couple met while working at WTIC-TV and fell instantly in love after a few dates. Mika and his ex-husband are the parents of his two children. There seems to be no sign of a divorce as the two seem happy in public.
