Miguel Angel Cotto Vázquez, better known as Miguel Cotto, is a professional boxer from Puerto Rico. He is the first Puerto Rican boxer to win world titles in four different weight classes. Miguel Cotto aka Junito was born on October 29, 1980 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. The family moved to Puerto Rico before he was two years old. Miguel Cotto belongs to the family of boxing backgrounds. His late father, Miguel Cotto Sr., his brother José Miguel Cotto and his second cousin Abner Cotto are all related to boxing.
His uncle Evangelista Cotto is a former boxing trainer. Therefore, for Miguel to pursue his boxing career has not been an unexpected move. Miguel Cotto started boxing as a child.
