Following their Grammy Award-winning 2001 EP Solo , the band announced that they were going on an indefinite hiatus.
Following the announcement, Tait focused on other projects, namely his eponymous band, Estaba . He had designs for the band dating back to 1997, but after speaking went on hiatus, Tait worked rigorously with Estaba and released two studio albums. From 2001 ‘s Empty and 2003’s Lose This Life.
In 2009, Tait became the frontman for the newly reformed Christian rock band, Newsboys . Tait has since provided lead vocals for Newsboys on their records Born Again (2010), God’s Not Dead (2011), Reboot (2013), Hallelujah Through the Cross (2014), Love Riot (2016) and United ( 2019).
