Symon has recognized himself as a popular American chef, restaurateur, and author. He is also a well-known television personality. After winning the esteemed James Beard Foundation Award, he has persistently appeared on TV shows like Iron Chef America , Food Fights , The Best I Ever Ate , The Chew , etc. Michael Symon has also described his culinary arts in his periodicals such as Bon Appetit, Food Arts, Gourmet Saveur, Esquire, to name a few. He owns numerous restaurants in the Greater Cleveland area.

Michael Symon was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 19, 1969. He is an American belonging to the white-American ethnicity. He was raised in North Olmsted, Ohio.

He attended St. Richard’s School in North Olmsted and St. Edward’s High School in Lakewood. He graduated in 1987.

He is of Greek, Italian, and Eastern European ancestry. He gained his culinary skills by enrolling in the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and graduating in 1990. He also allowed himself a part-time job as a cook.

The restaurant was listed as ‘100 Flavors to Try’ in 2007 in Food Wine magazine. The restaurant closed in 2007 and was acquired by someone else.
