Life was not always rosy for Matthew Roloff, as he had to undergo 15 surgeries to overcome a re -iastrophic dysplasia that affected his bone development and ultimately resulted in dwarfism . Matthew Roloff was born as Matthew James Matt Roloff on October 7, 1961 in San Francisco, California. He is a son of Peggy Roloff and Ron Roloff .
Life was not easy for Roloff, as he was born with diastrophic dysplasia, which affects bone development, for which he underwent 15 operations as a child.
Matthew Roloff’s career
Matthew Roloff started his acting journey from the 1985 TV movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor . In the movie, he appeared as an Ewok. However, he was unable to continue his acting journey and worked as a computer programmer for Silicon Valley companies.
Roloff and his then-wife Amy Roloff later moved to Portland, Oregon when he got better job opportunities with Sequent Computer Systems.
Matthew and Amy are parents to their four children; twin son Zachary Roloff and Jeremy Roloff born in 1990, a daughter Molly Silvius born in 1993, and another son Jacob Roloff born in 1997. Zachary has achondroplasia like his mother Amy, which resulted in dwarfism, but three other children are healthy and have a normal height.
After the divorce, they both move in with their respective partners, but are on good terms and work together for their farm and show. Roloff is now dating his girlfriend Caryn Chandler since 2016.
The star is active in various charities. He is a past president of the nonprofit organization Little People of America. Through his organization He Shortcut Solutions, he works to make life easier for little people like him. In 2008, Roloff flew to Iraq seeking medical help for the family with three children who suffered from dwarfism.
legal issues
In 2003, Roloff was charged with driving under the influence, as he agreed to participate in and completed a division alcohol program, the charges were dropped. In 2007, he was again charged with DUI when he was caught driving out of the lane. Roloff was not found guilty of the charge, as a witness said that he was not drinking that night.
In 2013, the Roloff family sued a Washington County, Oregon building inspector who entered their property without a warrant or permit.
