Martin Lee Truex Jr. is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Furniture Row Racing driving the number 78 Toyota Camry. He is a two-time Xfinity Series champion.
Early life, biography and education
Martin Lee Truex Jr. was born on June 29, 1980 in Trenton, New Jersey to parents Linda Truex and Martin Truex Sr. He was raised in Mayetta, New Jersey. He has a brother named Ryan Truex, who is a former champion in the K&N Pro Series East.
Martin was inspired by his father, who was a former race winner in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Having grown up in the racing environment and being a kid too, being interested in racing is not surprising.

Martin Truex Jr. began his racing career in central New Jersey with New Egypt Speedway. He began competing in the NASCAR Camping World East Series in 2000. Martin Truex Jr won 5 races in his four years with the NASCAR Camping World East Series. He also raced in the Busch North Series, where he raced three full seasons. He got 13 pole positions and 5 wins in his seasons.
Martin Truex Jr. started the first Cup race in 2004 for Dale Earnhardt, Inc (DEI) at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He remained in the Busch Series and defended his championship in 2005. He won his first win at Daytona International Speedway in July 2005.
In 2006 Martin Truex Jr moved to DEI in the Nextel Cup Series. Micheal Truex Jr. drove the #56 Toyota Camry for Micheal Waltrip Racing between the 2010 and 2013 seasons. In 2014, he signed with Furniture Row Racing and has been driving. His last race was the 2016 Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead.
