Mark Giangreco is the Sports Director and a Lead Sportscaster for WLS-TV based in Chicago, Illinois. He is the winner of three Emmy Awards. He also hosts the sports segment on ABC7 for its 5 pm and 10 pm newscasts. Mark is known for his deadpan humor and wit. He is sometimes sarcastic, but because of this, Mark has gained many non-sports fans as well as sports fans.
Education and early life
Born May 13, 1952 in Buffalo, New York, Mark is a US citizen. Mark Giangreco has not revealed any information about his childhood days or his parents. He has two brothers named Thomas Giangreco, a medical device consultant, and Pete Giangreco, a political consultant for the Democratic Party.
Mark Giangreco attended Canisius High School, graduating in 1970. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1974, where he earned his BA in Communications.

Mark Giangreco began his career during his college years by joining Dayton-based radio station WING-AM as a news and sports reporter in 1972. He landed his first job at NBC in Dayton, where he worked for less than a year, and moved to Louisville, Kentucky-based WLKY-TV in 1978. After four years with WLKY-TV in Louisville, where he served as a sportscaster and sports director, Mark moved to Chicago-based WMAQ-TV in 1982.
