Marissa Bailey is of white ethnicity and has United States nationality. She was born on October 29, 1981 in Pittsburg, Clinton County, New York State, United States of America. She attended elementary education at an elementary school, Arthur P. Momot Elementary School in Plattsburgh, New York. Later, she attended Plattsburgh High School and was also an excellent student in her high school.

After her high school, Bailey attended Syracuse University, also known as SU, in Syracuse, New York. There she graduated with a master’s degree in journalism.

Bailey’s career began at a very young age. She wrote articles for the local Plattsburgh newspaper and also appeared several times on local Plattsburgh television. After her graduation in 2006, she joined WGRZ-TV, which was an NBC affiliate in Buffalo, New York. When Bailey joined WGRZ, she was only working as a weekly reporter, but shortly after a year, she was promoted to work as an anchor at the new station Sunday Morning Newscasts.

After working for two years, she was again promoted to work as a solo anchor for late-night 10pm television broadcasts for interviews, hard news, and special extended weekend news coverage.

Melissa also became a general assignment reporter at the station’s lead anchor for all newscasts until she left the network. In 2011, she won the New York State Regional Emmy Award.
