Tur has worked for many news channels in her career, including News 12 Brooklyn, WPIX-TV, HD News/Cablevision, and KTLA. Tur has risked her life while covering a storm.

Katy Tur was born on October 26, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, United States. Tur was born into a family of journalists. Her father, Robert Albert Tur, is a popular journalist and her mother, Marika Gerrard. Her parents divorced in 2003. Her father later changed her gender from female to male and was named Hanna. Zoey Tur.
Tur has a brother named James Tur who is a medical student. In 2005, Tur graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in Philosophy.
Katy Tur’s career
Tur began her career as a reporter for KTLA TV, Los Angeles, right after her graduation. She later worked for other channels HD News, WPIX-TV and Fox 5 New York for a few years. She later worked as a storm chaser for The Weather Channel on the network’s VORTEX2 team.
She was previously involved in a relationship with Keith Olbermann from 2006-09.
Her husband Tony Dokoupil is a correspondent for CBS News. She has been with CBS News since 2016. Before that, she was a correspondent for MSNBC News. He also served as a national reporter for the network. Dokoupil began her career as a journalist at NBC News in 2013.
He was a senior news writer for the network from 2013 to 2015. He published his first book The Last Pirate: A Father, His Son, and the Golden Age of Marijuana in 2014.
