An American entrepreneur and inventor, Joy Mangano is popular primarily for her inventions, Miracle Mop . Her other notable appearances include Little Vapors , Shadow Readers , Performance Platforms , Always Fragrant , and Cuddling Hangers. Mangano began selling her on-air products in 1992 and in 1999 she sold her business to the Home Shopping Network (HSN). She has also published her autobiography titled Inventing Joy in 2017. As of 2018, she serves as the President of Artful Designs. Mangano was married to her college roommate, Tony Miranne.in 1978. The couple have three children together. The couple divorced in 1989 but remained friends afterward.
Early life and education of Joy Mangano
Joy Mangano was born on February 1, 1956 in East Meadow, New York under the birth sign Taurus. Mangano is American by nationality and as far as her ethnicity is concerned, she is Caucasian. She was raised in Huntington by her Italian-American parents, Terri Mangano and Rudy Mangano .
Mangano began to invent from a very young age. During his teenage years, he worked at an animal hospital in New York, where he dreamed up a fluorescent flea collar to protect pets. The following year, the similar product was launched by Hartz Mountain .
Their first child, Christie 34, works as the senior vice president of brand development, merchandising and marketing strategy. Her son, Robert, 33, is a lawyer and her youngest son, Jackie, 31, is a model who appears in HSN’s style segments.
The couple filed for divorce in 1989 for some undisclosed reasons, but they remained friends even after the separation for the sake of their children.
