Joe Bastianich began his career as a restaurateur in Italy. He opened his first restaurant in Italy with his famous chef mom Lidia Bastianich. They called the restaurant his & bdquo him; Becko.” That restaurant was a great success.

He later teamed up with chef Mario Batali and opened an Italian restaurant called ‘Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca’ which later earned three stars from The New York Times. And thus it became the first Italian restaurant to win the prestigious award in 40 long years.

Seeing the success of Babbo, Joe and his partner eventually opened seven more restaurants in New York. Their restaurant names are evidently Italian; LUPA, Esca, Casa Mono, Bar Jamon, Otto, Del Posto and Eataly.

Today, Joe owns ten restaurants in New York alone. Batali and Bastianich Hospitality Group own 4 restaurants in Las Vegas called B&B Burger & Beer, B&B Ristorante, Carnevino Italian Steakhouse and OTTO Enoteca Pizzeria.

Bastianich owns two restaurants in Los Angeles called Pizzeria Mozza and Chi Spacca, two restaurants in Singapore; Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza. He also owns an Italian market in Chicago and two restaurants in Hong Kong; Carnevino Italian steakhouse. He has many other restaurants in Missouri, Pennsylvania, and a salon in Port Chester.

Joe appeared on the Fox reality show; Master cook. He appears as one of the strictest judges and is very critical of the kitchen. Since then, Joe has appeared on Masterchef Italia, MasterChef Junior, Lidia’s Italy, and Restaurant Start-Up. Joe is the owner of three large wineries in Italy. He founded the Bastianich winery in 1997 in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

He owns 70 acres of land with cultivated grape varieties. La Mozza is the second winery comprising 90 acres of land and is based in Maremma Tuscany. His third winery, The Brandini Winery, specializes in Dolcetto, Barbera and Barolo wines and is located in the Langhe region of northern Italy. He also owns a winery in the Mendoza province of Argentina with his partners.
