American actor and DJ Efren Ramirez is known for playing Pedro Sánchez in the 2004 American comedy film Napoleon Dynamite . The movie helped him gain international fame. He reprized the role in the animated series of the same name in 2012. Ramírez began his acting career at the age of nineteen with a small role in the 1994 sci-fi/comedy, Tammy and the T-Rex .

Ramírez was raised together with his four siblings, including his identical twin, Carlos Ramirez who is also an actor.

The Efren Ramirez controversy
In 2013, famed Napoleon Dynamite actor Efren Ramirez sued his twin brother, Carlos Ramirez, for falsely impersonating him without his permission. Carlos was accused of paying $10 million to Efren.
Once in an interview, his twin brother explained that he made those appearances at Effren’s request because he was too busy to do it himself. But he also confessed not having assumed this responsibility. He said,
“I attended an event without him knowing because I was being immature and wanted to get back at him for a personal matter involving the girl he was dating at the time.”
After that incident, Effren prefers to avoid his brother. However, Carlos always wanted to make amends and rekindle their relationship like before.
“I would love to talk to Efren. Maybe they’ll even work together in the future. Support from him would be amazing. I think it’s safe to say that the magnitude of ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ and everything that has come with it has ruined my relationship with my twin. .”
