One of the most versatile and consistent midfielders of the generation, David Silva is nicknamed Merlin due to his magical passing skills and vision on the pitch. He has spent eight years with Manchester City and has appeared over 300 times for the club and has one FA Cup, three League Cups and three major titles to his name. Early life and career of David Silva
David Josue Jiminez Silva, better known as David Silva, was born on January 8, 1986 in Arguineguín, Canary Islands to father Fernando Jimenez and mother Eva Silva . His nationality is Spanish and he belongs to Caucasian ethnicity. His maternal lineage extends to Japan while his father was a municipal police officer who was in charge of guarding the Valencia FC stadium.
At first, he played as a goalkeeper and later switched to a winger during his playing days at UD San Fernando . He was scouted by Valencia CF and offered him in the youth team which he accepted. His debut came when he was loaned out to Eibar and he played his first professional game in the 2004/05 season.
He scored five times during the season making 35 league appearances. After that, he was again sent to loan Celta de Vigo for which he scored four goals. After his return to Valencia , he was an automatic starter even though he was only 20 years old.
He scored his first goal for Valencia in a draw against Espanyol on November 5, 2006. He stayed with Valencia until the 2009-10 season and made 161 appearances for the club scoring 29 goals.
