Dan’s father Gonzalo Le Batard and mother Lourdes Le Batard moved to Central Islip, New York, after they were banished from Cuba. Later, his parents, along with his brother, David Le Batard , moved to Miramar, Florida.

He completed his BA in Journalism and Politics in 1990 from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida.

She began her career as a writer for the sports section of the Miami Herald.
