Early life, biography and career of Chris Botti
Christopher Stephen Botti, American trumpeter and composer, was born on October 12, 1962 in Portland, Oregon, raised in Corvallis, and has also spent two years of his childhood in Italy. He was influenced by music from an early age due to his mother, who was a classically trained pianist and also a part-time piano teacher. Chris started playing the trumpet at the age of nine.
Chris Botti went to Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon and started acting professionally from his high school days. After studying music at the prestigious Indiana University with popular jazz educator David Baker, he moved to New York.

In 1990, Chris was asked to join Paul Simon’s band, where he remained a member of the band for the next five years. Finally, in the year 1995, Chris recorded his first solo First Wish. The album combines the sounds of contemporary pop-jazz with the textures of art-rock.
In 1997, Chris Botti released his second single ‘Midnight Without You’, which was a collaboration with Blue Nile frontman Paul Buchanan. He was introduced to Columbia by Bobby Colomby, who is a drummer and a founding member of Blood, Sweat & Tears. Chris’s first release on Columbia was titled in 2001 as Night Sessions, which was followed by December, a Christmas album in 2002.
Oregon native Chris Botti released another song in 2003, ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep’, which was followed by ‘When I Fall in Love’ in 2004. Later, he featured his hit song ‘To Love Again: The Duets’, in 2005. In September 2007, Chris released an album titled ‘Italy’. The album was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. Similarly, he has released several solo albums and has ruled the music industry ever since. For several years, he hosted a radio show called Chill with Chris Botti, which focused mainly on chill music.
