From the early age of 3 years he began acting. Maturo used to act in church plays and used to tell his mother about his passion. Due to his obsession, his mother hired him an agent.

August Maturo began his acting career at the early age of four when he was cast in the series, Applebaum . Maturo then worked on the dark comedy-drama, Weeds with Mary-Louise Parker, Hunter Parrish , and Justin Kirk . Some of his other works include How I Met Your Mother , Dads , and Raising Hope among others. He also worked on several Nickelodeon series.
Maturo’s breakthrough came in 2014 on the Disney Channel comedy television series, Girl Meets the World which helped make him one of the youngest children to host a Disney Channel series. In the series, he played the role of Auggie Matthews alongside Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter , Ben Savage , and Danielle Fishel .

“She was three years old and we were at a family reunion and she tried a cashew nut for the first time and started choking and gagging and her lips swelled up. She puked. I recognized these as symptoms of anaphylaxis and rushed him to the emergency room where he was given epinephrine, which is the first line treatment for anaphylaxis. After that, we met with Auggie’s allergist, who then diagnosed him with a food allergy.
Some of her hobbies include singing and playing the piano. He also loves to play baseball.
