August Anthony Alsina, Jr. known by his stage name August Alsina is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. He is best recognized for his single, I Love This Shit . He has released a number of mixtapes, including his 2011 debut called Untitled and 2013’s The Product 2 .

Early life and education of August Alsina

August Alsina was born August Anthony Alsina Jr. on September 3, 1992, in New Orleans, USA, under the birth sign of Virgo. His mother is Sheila Alsina and his father is August Alsina Sr.

At the age of 14, he lost his father to drug abuse. His childhood was hard and dangerous because his life was intertwined with drugs. Alsina has three brothers Melvin La’Branch III, Travis Labranch and Jamal Labranch.

One of his brothers, Melvin, was shot and killed on August 31, 2010. Ethnically, August Alsina is African American and his nationality is American.

His extended play Downtown: Life Under The Gun was released on August 20, 2013. According to his bio, his third single Ghetto featuring Rich Homie Quan from Downtown: Life Under the Gun was a tune-up for urban contemporary radio and was became the most successful song on urban radio.

Alsina released Get home with Jeezy. Along with the release, it was revealed that the album would be titled Testimony, the album includes Kissing My Tattoos and Loveless ( remix) with Nicki Minaj totaling six songs. It was released on April 15, 2014.

On December 11, 2015, Alsina released the album, This thing called life . It peaked at number 14 on the Billboard 200. The album featured five singles; Hip Hop , Why Do I Do It featuring Little Wayne, Song Cry , Around the World featuring Chris Brown and Dreamer .

Controversy

A girl from Virginia posted a photo of herself with a lump in her stomach on Instagram claiming that she is pregnant with Alsina. She further added that Alsina was pleading for her to have an abortion. However, Alsina never responded to the rumor.

Health problem

While performing on his first national tour, Testimony Live in New York City in September 2014, he collapsed and was taken to the hospital and kept in the ICU. According to the report, he was in a coma for three days and then recovered.
