1. At age 8, she began performing with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. Her brother was also a member of the ensemble.
2. She started writing her songs at the age of 11. The first song she wrote was about the zombie apocalypse and was titled Fingers Crossed. She had written it right after watching The Walking Dead.
3. In October 2015, her brother came into her room and told her about the single he was performing with his band. She sang Ocean Eyes for the first time in her room at that time. Billie eventually took on Ocean Eyes and sent it off to one of her dance teachers. She had basically created a free download link on SoundCloud for her teacher to download.
4. Before releasing Ocean Eyes on Soundcloud, she had posted two singles She’s Broken and Fingers Crossed with her brother Finneas on the popular music streaming platform.
5. After it went viral on SoundCloud, Hillydilly , a music discovery website, spotted it and featured it on their website.
6. The song was eventually spotted by Danny Ruckasin and he got in touch with her brother to represent her.
7. Before her music career took off, she was more interested in contemporary dance and spent 11 hours a week in the dance studio.
